A new generation of engines is born
Environmental zones and bans on vehicles, rising diesel prices and higher road tolls are a serious burden on the transport industry at present. We need to find answers to these challenges as a commercial-vehicle manufacturer and partner to our customers.
The new commercial vehicle engines are good example of this as they satisfy the stringent Euro 5 pollutant standards and optionally also satisfy the even higher demands of the EEV standard using controlled exhaust-gas recirculation (EGR).
These Common Rail engines by MAN are fully developed from a technical standpoint and are convincing due to their superior display of power and low fuel consumption. As a consequence, MAN is the only commercial-vehicle manufacturer in Europe who provide Euro 5/EEV engines for light to medium heavy commercial vehicles and also Euro 5 engines for heavy commercial vehicles that can operate without additional operating materials and can therefore fully exploit their specific handling and payload advantages. EEV engines are also installed in NEOPLAN and MAN coaches.
MAN PURE DIESEL® with TGL and TGM
The simple MAN PURE DIESEL® Euro 5 compliant technology with exhaust-gas recirculation is available in all output stages from 150 to 340 HP in the light and medium TGL and TGM series. Customers, whose vehicles are used in particularly environmentally-sensitive zones can also order EEV-certified vehicles.
TGX and TGS: The choice is yours
In the TGX and TGS heavy model series you, the customer, will be able to choose in future between MAN PURE DIESEL® technology; the new, efficient Euro 5 EGR engines without additives* with a specification ranging from 320 to 480 HP or SCR technology equipped with MAN AdBlue® with powerful engines ranging from 480 to 540 HP.
EEV engines now installed in all new MAN and NEOPLAN buses
All new MAN buses are equipped with simple MAN PURE DIESEL® engine technology and now also satisfy the optional EEV standard in the coach sector. NEOPLAN Starliner, Cityliner and Tourliner coaches are now equipped with powerful MAN Common Rail engines in EEV exhaust-gas quality. You, the customer, will require no additional operating materials whatsoever in order to satisfy the Euro 5 exhaust-gas standard and EEV thanks to MAN PURE DIESEL®.
