MAN Nutzfahrzeuge sells more than 100,000 trucks and buses for the first time
Based in Munich, Germany, the MAN Nutzfahrzeuge Group is the largest company in the MAN Group and one of the leading international providers of commercial vehicles and transport solutions. In fiscal year 2007 the company, with more than 36,000 employees, generated a turnover of € 10.4 billion with sales of over 93,000 trucks and over 7,300 buses and bus chassis under the MAN and NEOPLAN brands.
Especially the new TGX and TGS truck ranges launched in the autumn of last year are setting standards in terms of transport efficiency. They were voted "Truck of the Year 2008" by an international jury of trade journalists and won the "red.dot: best of the best" international design prize.
The Bus Division too is a leader in its sector. The NEOPLAN Starliner has won various design prizes and the "Coach of the Year 2006" title. This was the third time in succession that this title had been won by a bus from MAN.
The MAN Nutzfahrzeuge Group includes the truck brands MAN, ERF (Great Britain) and STAR (Poland) as well as buses of the brands MAN and NEOPLAN. The company works in Germany at five Production facilities: Munich, Nuremberg, Salzgitter, Pilsting, and Plauen. Other plants are in Poland, Austria, Turkey and South Africa. Since October 2006 heavy trucks have been produced for the Indian market in a joint venture with Force Motors Ltd. and since the fourth quarter 2007 for export too.

MAN Nutzfahrzeuge pursues an international growth strategy which, above and beyond the core market in Europe, focuses on the opening up of selected growth markets in Asia and Eastern Europe including Russia.
In 2008 the MAN Group is celebrating its 250th anniversary. Beside this it is also 150 years after the birth of Rudolf Diesel, the MAN engineer who developed the world's first diesel engine.
