Top performance in development and production
The trucks unit of the MAN Nutzfahrzeuge Group is one of the leading international providers in the commercial vehicle industry. The range of products of MAN Trucks covers all weight classes. The range stretches from the TGL (7.5 - 12 t), through the medium series in the Trucknology® Generation TGM (13 - 26 t), all the way to the new model series TGS and TGX, covering the range from 18 to 44 metric tonnes permitted total weight.
The successes of the model series set standards. The two new truck model series MAN TGX and MAN TGS were proclaimed "Truck of the Year 2008" at the European Road Transport Show 2007 in Amsterdam. This means that MAN Nutzfahrzeuge has won this valuable award from the international jury for the seventh time - a unique achievement among truck manufacturers.
The market share of trucks above 6 metric tonnes in Europe is 15.9 %. On the European bus market, the market share for the fiscal year 2006 was 15.4 %.
On a regional basis, the truck unit sells not only MAN trucks but also the STAR brand on the Polish market and the ERF brand in Great Britain. In a joint venture with Force Motors Ltd. in India, MAN Nutzfahrzeuge has also been producing heavy trucks for the Indian market since October 2006 - and in the near future these will be produced for export.
