What is an RSS News Feed?

RSS is a format based on the XML standard, via which you can receive and read text content, e.g. current press releases, without entering the website in question. In contrast to a website including graphic elements, which is accessed from a browser, only the text content is transmitted in an RSS file and is marked in such a way that the information is machine-readable, e.g. using an RSS Reader.

RSS is short for “Rich Site Summary, “RDF Site Summary” or “Really Simple Syndication”. There are several versions of the RSS Standard.

What is the advantage of an RSS Reader?

The main advantage is that it saves times: a Newsreader automatically trawls through the website of MAN Nutzfahrzeuge to find current press releases and clearly lists them.
