MAN Nutzfahrzeuge Group

Special exhibition: 150 Years of Diesel

The Deutsches Museum and MAN have organised a special exhibition to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Rudolf Diesel's birthday.

The Traffic Centre in the Deutsches Museum in Munich is hosting an exhibition on all aspects of the diesel engine and its ingenious inventor from 8th July to 31st August 2008 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Rudolf Diesel's birthday.

The Deutsches Museum is the second port of call for this travelling exhibition that opened on 18th March 2008 in Augsburg and moves from Munich to Copenhagen in September.

The exhibition covers nine topics
that provide an insight into the life and achievements of Rudolf Diesel, the applications for diesel technology today and its potential for the future. The exhibition also narrates the history of the historic M.A.N. and also its development from the Maschinenfabrik Augsburg, the birthplace of the diesel engine, to a global corporation. The final part of the exhibition provides an insight into aspects of the environment and the outlook for the future. This is intended to demonstrate how MAN Group plays an active role in climate protection through the development and implementation of new technologies.
