Guide to MAN Student Sponsorship What is the aim of MAN Student Sponsorship? The MAN Group sees student sponsorship as a way of finding performance-orientated staff to meet its future personnel requirements. What are the conditions for sponsorship? - Study at a university or polytechnic in Germany or abroad
- A course in which the MAN Group has or will have a demand for graduates
- Willingness to start a traineeship within the MAN Group
- Willingness to conclude a contract of employment on completion of studies.
How is sponsorship granted and when does it start? - The student applies to a company in the MAN Group, normally for a position as trainee during his course of study (see Contact addresses).
- The student's performance during studies and in trainee periods at the company shows whether he/she is eligible for sponsorship.
- Following successful completion of trainee periods and if the supervisor's overall assessment is positive the student can be recommended for sponsorship.
What form does the sponsorship take? - The main emphasis in the MAN Student Sponsorship scheme is on professional and personal support for the student. This is given by the supervisor in close cooperation with the relevant department and the Human Resources department.
- The supervisor advises the student even during his first trainee period on subject, specialisation and if necessary place of study.
- During studies
the advice is aimed at organising studies to best possible effect so that the envisaged qualification is reached in the shortest possible time and with the greatest success. advice is given on choice of topics and writing dissertations etc. deployment of the student during the term holidays is coordinated. the requirements and conditions for future professional activities are gradually indicated and the student is put in contact with specialist inside and outside the company. During his studies the student can be supported by benefits in kind (e.g. invitations to events organised by the MAN companies, money for books etc.). if appropriate financial assistance for activities during the course of study (e.g. terms abroad) that are in the interests of MAN companies.
When does sponsorship end? - Sponsorship ends
at the latest at the end of the month in which the student duly completes his course of study (last examination). - earlier if the student's performance indicates that he/she is not likely to pass.
- The student will be informed in writing of the end of the sponsorship relationship.
And what then? In good time before completion of his/her studies the student will be offered a contract of employment within the MAN Group in line with his/her skills. |
